Three Verses that Remind Us How to Deal with Worry

We all face moments of stress and anxiety as we go through the demands of a busy day. Too often we don’t deal with them as we should. In most cases we fail to turn first to the One who can actually help us. Here are 3 verses that remind us how to face the worries of life:

  • “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6

Erich’s note: Imagine if we turned every anxious thought into a prayer request instead of a worry list. Let’s stop worrying and start praying.

  • “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

Erich’s note: What a great reminder… we can cast our anxieties on God because He cares for us (and He is big enough to handle them).

  • “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34

Erich’s note: Worry divides the mind. When we worry about the past or the future we fail to live in the present. So, let’s focus on today since it has enough trouble of it’s own.

Your turn… How do you deal with worry? What other verses help you in times of stress?
