Three Ways Our Hearts Remain Good Soil

I recently finished listening to a great series by Robert Morris, Senior Pastor of Gateway Church, called You Are Here. In the final lesson he focused on the type of heart we need to better receive God’s Word so that transformation can continue to happen. As their study guide says, “We all want God to be the center of our lives, and we want Jesus to be the Lord of our lives. In order to produce good fruit in our lives we must have hearts that receive the Word of God so it can produce 30-, 60- and 100-fold. Our hearts remain good soil when we aim to for them to be humble, holy and heavenly.” Take a moment to reflect on these three ways our hearts can remain good soil. We need to have…

  • A Humble Heart

Scriptures to review: Matthew 13:10–15; Ezekiel 36:26; Isaiah 57:15; Daniel 10:12; Psalm 10:17

  • A Holy Heart

Scriptures to review: Isaiah 57:15; 1 Peter 1:15–16; Leviticus 20:26 (NLT); Matthew 15:1–2, 7–8, 12, 15–20

  • A Heavenly Heart

Scriptures to review: Isaiah 57:15; 2 Corinthians 4:18; Colossians 3:1–2; Isaiah 55:10–13 (NLT)

Your turn… What is the Holy Spirit saying to you through this lesson and these scriptures?
